Throughout the year, London Glassblowing holds a series of themed exhibitions, featuring some of the finest contemporary glass artists from across the world, as well as work by Peter Layton and the team of resident artists.

There is always something fresh and exciting to see in the gallery, even if you plan on visiting outside of a themed exhibition listed below.

Sculpting Light - A solo exhibition by Tim Rawlinson

We were excited to present a new body of work by our own artist Tim Rawlinson in his solo exhibition 'Sculpting Light', which showcased his innovative explorations in light, glass and organic forms.

Making Waves

Peter Layton’s solo exhibitions have become an eagerly anticipated annual tradition in the London Glassblowing calendar. In his 2023 showcase, Peter presented a collection that highlighted his commitment to pushing the boundaries and exploring the possibilities of glass as a medium.

Summer Solstice

In celebration of the longest day of the year and also Peter’s 86th birthday, we were pleased to announce our Summer Solstice exhibition in 2023. The show’s theme revolved around time and the cyclical nature of life.

Collect | 2023

London Glassblowing had a big announcement for 2023, we exhibited at Collect at Somerset House for the first time in three years. Collect is an international art fair and is one of the world’s most influential fairs focusing on contemporary art and design.

VETRO II: Exploring the Venetian Influence

VETRO II: Exploring the Venetian Influence was our homage to the extraordinary history, tradition, skill and invention of the Muranese glassmakers.

Colour and Light, Alison Kinnaird MBE

Colour and Light comprised a stunning collection of work by the engraver Alison Kinnaird, one of the world's leading glass artists. We exhibited a diverse body of her work much of which has never been shown in England.

EARTH / SEA / SKY

To celebrate both the Contemporary Glass Society's 25th anniversary and the United Nations International Year of Glass in 2022, CGS curated "Earth/Sea/Sky," a special exhibition shown at London Glassblowing Gallery during July.

Best In Glass

This unique exhibition was a celebration of one of the United Kingdom's most treasured talents, Elliot Walker. Having joined the studio from university, Elliot's artistry with glassblowing was nurtured and developed, which allowed him to go on to participate and win the Netflix show Blown Away 2.
